Paphos police go on weekend crackdown of drink drivers and entertainment venues

Paphos police booked scores of drivers and entertainment venues in weekend crackdown

Police in Paphos arrested one person for drugs and booked six local businesses for violations related to their operation, as part of a coordinated operation on the weekend.

According to Paphos police director Nicos Tsapis, traffic police also booked 47 people, most of which was related to drink driving.

In addition, Tsapis said that during the coordinated operation, a young man in possession of drugs was identified and arrested.

The operation was also extended to include local entertainment venues. In two of them, using search warrants, police confiscated sound systems broadcasting music without a licence, while another four venues were found to be operating without licences.

Coordinated operations will continue, Tsapis concluded.
