Man jailed for three years over intent to deal cannabis

A 27-year-old man who was caught with over 900g of cannabis was jailed for three years on Tuesday.

According to a police announcement, the man was arrested on October 8 in the Famagusta district by drug squad officers who found seven plastic packages containing cannabis of a two kilos gross weight during a search in his house.

After laboratory tests, it was found that the quantity of the illegal substance has a net weight of about 900g.

On Tuesday, Famagusta district court found the man guilty of illegal possession of drugs with the intent to deal.
