Motorists warned of road closures for Quantum Nicosia Marathon

A number of roads in the capital Nicosia will be closed to traffic from 4pm on Saturday, December 10 and from 6am to 1pm on Sunday, December 11 in light of this year’s charity Quantum Nicosia Marathon 2022.

According to an official announcement, on Saturday, December 10, Mikis Theodorakis Street will be closed to traffic from 4pm until 3pm the next day, December 11.

“The organising committee, representing the local bodies as well, apologises for the inevitable difficulty that will be caused and invites the public to participate in the great sporting charity celebration of Nicosia and to show the necessary understanding and to comply with the temporary road markings and traffic instructions – Nicosia Police,” the announcement said.

There are five different races taking place, including the 42km marathon and 21km half-marathon for runners 18 years old and over, with a participation fee of 10 euros.

Meanwhile, for younger runners, the 7.7 mile and 5km runs are open to participants aged 16 and over for a €5 fee, and for the rest of us, the Quantum Mile Run, a short, one-mile fun run for families and children will be open to everyone, free of charge.
