Injured and bloodied man found outside Larnaca apartment block

A 29-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Sunday in connection with an assault on another man aged 25 at a Larnaca apartment complex, police said.

The suspect was remanded for eight days by the Larnaca court later in the day.

Around 10pm on Saturday, police received a call about in injured person lying outside a building and found the victim covered in blood. They said it appeared he was attacked with a sharp object.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to the Larnaca general hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Investigations established that he had been attacked in the stairwell of the building where he lives. Witness testimony pointed to the 29-year-old suspect and he was arrested in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim’s condition is said to be serious but stable.
