Today’s Weather: Mostly cloudy, thunderstorm possible

On Tuesday the weather will be mostly cloudy and isolated rains are expected at intervals, while an isolated storm is also possible locally. Winds will be north-easterly to south-easterly and on the west and north coasts westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. Temperatures will rise to 20 C inland and on the coasts, and 13 C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday night the weather will remain mostly cloudy and early evening showers are expected in places, while an isolated storm is not excluded on the eastern coast. Rain and local storms are expected mainly from midnight onwards, with the phenomena starting from the west and progressively affecting the whole island. Locally, the phenomena are expected to be prolonged or even intense, while on the highest peaks of Troodos it is sleet or even snow may fall. Winds will initially be mainly south-easterly to south-westerly and locally variable, light, up to 3 Beaufort. Later they will become mainly south-easterly weak to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough. Temperatures will drop to 12 C inland and 15 C in the south, east and north coasts, 16 C in the remaining coasts and 8 C in the higher mountains.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy and rain and local storms are expected, with local effects being prolonged or even intense. On the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or snow is possible. From the afternoon onwards, the system recedes to the east and the effects gradually weaken.

On Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains are expected, mainly in the mountains. On Friday, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Wednesday fluctuating slightly above average for the season with a slight rise expected by Friday.
