Famagusta teachers get training in bomb-threat protocols

Teachers in the Famagusta area on Thursday were given training in Paralimni by the police on the protocols regarding the management of bomb threats and explosive objects.

“In the context of teacher’s day, deputy chief constable Odysseas Papadopoulos, in charge of the bomb disposal unit and police canine unit presented the protocols outlined by the education ministry on the management of bomb threats and explosive objects,” Famagusta police spokesman Steve Theodoulou told CNA.

He added that the presentation aimed at informing and guiding teachers regarding risk assessment and at the same time the first actions that school management should follow in cooperation with the police,” said Theodoulou.

The presentation was attended by around 80 teachers.
