Limassol municipality will provide 450 “packages of love” so that no family goes without the essentials for Christmas.

Limassol mayor Nikos Nikolaides said that in collaboration with the district’s food bank centre there will be holiday cheer for those most in need.

He added that each package contains two tickets to any Ethal Limassol performance in 2023, saying that “we’re showing and promoting theatre as an art which belongs to all of us”.

Athina Spyrou, of the district’s social welfare committee, was upbeat that there was no significant increase in the number of people seeking care packages despite the challenging times.

Spyrou emphasised that the food bank will continue providing its services for as long as there is the need.
