Three arrested with fake passports

Three persons aged 26, 25 and 23, were arrested at Limassol port on Monday after they attempted to depart the island using forged travel documents.

The suspects, who aimed to travel to Genoa, presented European passports but suspicions were raised that they were fake.

Examinations revealed the documents had indeed been forged and the suspects were transferred to Limassol CID.

During questioning, the three, in Cyprus as political asylum seekers, confessed they got the passports from another person in order to leave island.
