President speaks with Ukraine’s Zelenskiy

President Nicos Anastasiades said Thursday he spoke on the phone with Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who briefed him on the ongoing conflict.

“Received a phone call by President Zelenskyy who, inter alia, gave me an overview of the latest developments in Russia’s invasion in Ukraine,” Anastasiades posted on Twitter.

The president added that he “reiterated that Cyprus, itself a victim of invasion and occupation by Turkey, stands firmly with the Ukrainian people.”
