A 26-year-old man became the third to be charged in writing on Tuesday over violent incidents during a football match last week.
The case concerns a fight among football fans at the Ael-Apollon derby at the Alfamega stadium in Limassol last Wednesday.
The 26-year-old, who was identified through footage taken on the stadium’s CCTV, was called to Limassol CID’s offices where he was interrogated and charged in writing.
Two other men, aged 30 and 31, have been charged over the same incidents.
A few minutes after the end of the first half, fans of both teams started throwing chairs to the opposing stands. Police intervened and broke up the fight but the second half was delayed ten minutes.
The 30-year-old was identified on Friday through CCTV footage while the older suspect was identified after police published photos of the people wanted.
Over ten suspects remain wanted for the case.
