Julia Forrest presents photography in Paphos

Kimonos Arts Centre in Paphos in collaboration with the Psifida Art Gallery is organising a photography presentation with New York-based artist Julia Forrest on January 27.

Forrest, using the analogue photographic method and without digital interventions, presents female figures placed in landscapes of their personal significance. In her compositions, the female body, the lines and the volumes of the panorama have an interdependent relationship, they coexist harmoniously in the photographs, completing the image with a mystical, almost, balance giving viewers the impression that the human body has the power to define but also to change the form and substance of the landscape in the same way that natural phenomena or time itself could.

The photographer lives and works in the US and is the third artist hosted at the Kimonos Arts Centre as part of the 2022 Visitors artist residency programme.
