Two wanted men handed over to the north

The Bicommunal Technical Committee on Crime on Saturday handed over two people who were wanted for a case of attempted murder to the authorities in the north.

They were promptly remanded for three days.

According to Turkish Cypriot daily Yeni Duzen, the two men on January 10 threatened to kill a 23-year-old man with a cleaver and threw him from the second floor of the apartment where they lived, after a fight.

The young man is still hospitalised in critical condition in the intensive care unit at the hospital in northern Nicosia.

The two wanted men subsequently fled to the south. After a request was submitted through the technical committee, the two men were located and handed over to the authorities in the north.
