Police in Paphos on Thursday are investigating a 75-year-old man, who is suspected of threatening two tenants at his daughter’s apartment with a gun over a rental dispute.

According to police, two siblings, 37 and 45, were discussing rents with their landlord on Wednesday evening, and the conversation became heated.

Authorities said that at some point the landlord’s father, 75, became involved in the dispute and began to threaten the siblings.

Police added that during the discussion the man, who had returned from a hunting trip, went and took out his hunting rifle and pointed it at the two siblings.

The 75-year-old was called into the police station following the incident, and his three rifles were seized. He was later questioned, charged in writing, and let go.
