Man arrested for 27 burglaries

A 35-year-old man, suspected of stealing €17,500 worth of items in some 27 burglaries, has been arrested, police said on Monday.

The crimes investigated concern conspiracy to commit a felony, breaking into a place of worship and stealing valuables, attempted burglary and causing malicious damage.

They were committed between January 24 and April 26 this year in the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca and Morphou area.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the total amount of stolen property amounts to approximately €17,500, while the amount of damage caused during the above offences is estimated at more than €4,500.
