Police on Sunday arrested a 36-year-old woman at Paphos airport in connection with a case of impersonation.

According to the Paphos police spokesman, shortly after 7pm the woman presented herself at the departures desk with the intent of travelling to Monaco.

During passport control, she presented a French passport which was genuine, but the photo depicted someone else.

The woman allegedly admitted to her true identity, and to living in Cyprus as a political asylum seeker. She was subsequently arrested for the offence of impersonation and taken into custody.
