Paphos mayor signs memorandum with Birzeit University

A three-year memorandum of cooperation was signed on Tuesday by the Paphos municipality and Birzeit University of Palestine.

According to the announcement, the ceremony took place at noon at Birzeit University where Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos represented his city and university Vice-President Talal Shahwan signed on behalf of his institution.

“The cooperation between the two parties will extend to research, innovation, climate change, culture and exchange of experiences in academic and local authority matters. The two parties […] aim at mutual understanding of their peoples and their cultures in order to achieve development and prosperity,” the announcement states.

After the event the signatories toured the university which is said to offer state-of-the-art facilities and approximately 120 study programs.
