Paphos mayor continues building links with Israel on education

The municipality of Paphos, represented by Mayor Phedonas Phedonos, on Thursday continued contacts in Israel with the aim of strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions.

The Cypriot delegation visited on the facilities of the Reichman University in the city of Hertzligia.

At the university, founder Uriel Reichman and President Rafi Melnick informed the members of the mission about the institution’s history and development.

The importance of higher education for sustainable development, stability and peace in the wider region were discussed.

The delegation then visited the Shimon Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, where they received a detailed tour of the institution’s work and mission.

On Wednesday, a ‘twinning’ ceremony of Paphos and the city of Bethlehem took place.
