As Phaneromenis70 Cultural Centre welcomes back friends to its revamped space in Phaneromeni Square, it launches its new season with an upcoming photography exhibition. The This is a Unicorn exhibition opens on Saturday and is presented under the curation of Kyriaki Shiopacha.

As part of the larger project Delivering Views-Delivering Texts that Phaneromenis70 Cultural Centre organises, Shiopacha was invited to read and provide insights on the project’s 30 chapters. From those, a selected number of photographs will be exhibited at Phaneromenis70 alongside her insightful analysis on the project’s general concept and ideas. Participating artists in the exhibition are Lena le Tessier, Annie Damianou, Flora Parrot, Andrea Liberato, Ole Christiansen, Iris Pissaride, Marcel Chambers, Lina Bitsakaki and Salamis Aysegul Sentug.

Delivering Views-Delivering Texts is an ongoing project that collects photos and texts from tourists who have visited Nicosia and Cyprus. The archive material is then periodically delivered to editors, intellectuals or artists, who are invited to share their perspectives. The goal of the project is to offer a new approach and interpretation of Cyprus through the eyes of foreigners, and to stimulate a fresh conversation on overlooked aspects of the island. The upcoming exhibition is the latest action that is part of the project, whilst many more are scheduled to take place in May and June, including some participation-based events.
