The veterinary services have opened up the application process for funding and are now accepting requests from animal welfare organisations for state sponsorship, the ministry of agriculture announced on Tuesday.

The allocation of state funding is based on criteria related to the size, financial strength and range of activities of each animal charity.

According to the announcement, the final date to submit an application is July 31 and applications will only be received at the veterinary services in Athalassa, Nicosia.

The required application form can be obtained from the veterinary services website.
