Authorities arrested two more suspects, aged 37 and 29, on suspicion of causing a fire in Tochni earlier this week.

For the same case, a 51-year-old man was also arrested on Wednesday, the day the fire broke out. He has been remanded until Monday.

The fire broke out around 1pm in the village of Tochni in Larnaca and burned a large area of trees and wild vegetation. According to the evidence under investigation, work was underway for the construction of a metal fence in the same area.

“It is alleged the fire started form the use of power tools and immediately afterwards spread,” police said.

Appearing at the Larnaca district court later in the day, the two suspects were remanded for three days.
