The forestry department said on Monday that the Aspros Potamos-Toxeftra road in the Akamas national forest park would remain closed due to improvement works.

The public is requested, in order to avoid any inconvenience but also for safety reasons, to avoid using the road and to use the roads leading to the park from Ineia, Arodes and Kathikas. In particular, those who plan to visit Lara can use the Ineia-Lara road and those who plan to visit Avakas can use the Pano Arodes-Avakas road, the department said.

Landowners, farmers, breeders, and other professionals operating in the area can use the Pegeia-Ayia Matrona-Avakas road.

The department apologised for any inconvenience and will issue a new announcement when the reconstruction works are completed.
