Police on Tuesday arrested an 18-year-old man for theft of money and interference in judicial proceedings.

According to police spokesman and head of Paphos CID Michalis Nikolaou, on February 15, a 30-year-old permanent resident reported the theft from his car of €1,500. He expressed suspicions against his 18-year-old roommate.

According to the 30-year-old, later on the same day the suspect accompanied by a 21-year-old, met him and threatened him to withdraw the case from the police, which Nikolaou said, would constitute interference in a judicial process, if found to be true.

Arrest warrants were issued against the 18-year-old and the 21-year-old.

The 18-year-old, who was located in Limassol, was arrested at 1.30pm and taken to the central Paphos police station where he was questioned and charged in writing.

Police are seeking to establish the whereabouts of the 21-year-old who is wanted.
