Junior Achievement Cyprus, a member of the world’s largest non-profit organisation dedicated to educating students on entrepreneurship, this week announced that in collaboration with Metlife, will organise a trade fair for its entrepreneurship programme in apprenticeship schools.

The event will take place on Monday, May 29 2023, at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia between the hours of 10:00 – 13:00.

According to the announcement, 35 students from the apprenticeship schools of Nicosia, Limassol, and Larnaca participated in the programme.

Guided by their school teachers and MetLife volunteers, students explored how to realise a business proposal from the idea stage to reality.

The students had hands-on experience in running a real business, from team formation, business plan development, and product development, as well as marketing and sales.

Three teams, one from each school, will participate in the trade fair. They will be given the opportunity to develop their communication skills as they are asked to attract visitors from the shopping mall to visit their stands, presenting their innovative product or service in the best possible way.

The Entrepreneurship in the Apprenticeship programme is personalised to the interests of pupils aged 14 to 17 who drop out of compulsory education early.

“The aim is to encourage them to develop skills that could improve their working assurance capabilities,” the announcement said.

“We deeply appreciate and embrace the students’ effort, as it exemplifies their unwavering dedication to learning and their resolute commitment to achieving their goals,” it added.

The announcement concluded by saying that “the programme has been embraced by MetLife, which has been supporting the programme for 5 years, both with financial support and with the engagement of their staff in programme activities”.
