Original evening in Paphos

Paphos-based cultural centre Technopolis 20 rounds off its May agenda with one more evening of music. Local jazz duet Giorgos Bizios and Christos Yerolatsitis will be welcomed back to the stage after their successful event last November on Wednesday, May 31.

Their new programme falls under the category of contemporary jazz and is based on a series of original compositions written by guitarist Bizios. The music comprises a wide range of diverse melodies and compositional elements that provide for the creation of a musical environment where composition and improvisation can coexist. Using organic and idiosyncratic structures, as well as the parameters of musical time and space as compositional tools, the works aim to explore the relationship between tradition and contemporary expression. On the night, Bizios will be on the electric guitar while Yerolatsitis will play the piano.

This performance signals the start of a summer filled with events. In June, Technopolis 20 will welcome more musicians to its garden while it also organises a Technopolis 20 Classics concert towards the end of the month at the Paphos Ancient Odeon.
