Five establishments in Paphos were reported for noise violations during a coordinated police operation, authorities said on Monday.

The operation was carried out overnight between September 25 and 26 as part of efforts to tackle noise pollution in the city.

Police inspected 11 establishments, five of which were reported for playing amplified sound without the required permits.

Searches were also carried out at two establishments suspected of repeatedly violating noise regulations.

At the first establishment, officers seized four speakers, a media player and an audio mixer, while four speakers, an amplifier and a mixer were confiscated from the second.
