Man caught stealing construction iron from Limassol building site

Police on Tuesday arrested a 59-year-old man for investigation into a case of theft of iron in Limassol.

According to police, the manager of a contracting company reported the theft from his company’s building site in Ayios Athanasios shortly before 9pm on Monday, after he arrived on site to check out a tip off from a neighbour that someone was stealing materials.

The manager found a man, unknown to him, loading construction iron into a semi truck. Upon asking for an explanation the suspect allegedly physically and verbally threatened him and drove off.

Police carried out examinations and suspicions were raised against a 59-year-old man, who was arrested on the basis of a court warrant.

The case is under ongoing investigation by the Germasogeia police.
