The Limassol court on Sunday remanded a 37-year-old man for five days, after he was arrested driving a stolen vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle was spotted on Saturday afternoon around 3pm.

Officers signalled for the man stop for a check, but he attempted to flee, resulting in a car chase.

Police were able to stop him a short distance away by cutting him off. Upon investigation, the authorities discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen on May 4, 2023.

During further checks on the vehicle, police found and seized a mobile phone and other items, which the 37-year-old could not account for.

The man was arrested, and taken to court on Sunday morning, where he was remanded for five days.

Police are continuing their investigations.
