President Nikos Christodoulides had a telephone conversation with Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, a written statement by Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said.

According to Letymbiotis there was an exchange of views on the progress in the implementation of what was discussed during Christodoulides’ visit to Israel on May 11. It was agreed that the discussions should be intensified, with an exchange of visits by competent ministers.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and Christodoulides expressed condolences for the loss of Israeli soldiers during an incident on Saturday at the border with Egypt.
