Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a two-day working visit to the country and to hold talks with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The two met in Jeddah to discuss the broader bilateral framework between the two countries and the next steps in the growing dynamic of Cyprus-Saudi Arabia cooperation in a number of areas.

Regional developments and the EU relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were also discussed.

Kombos will leave Jeddah in the afternoon and leave for Riyadh, where on Thursday he will participate in the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition against Daesh/ISIS.

The ministerial meeting is co-organised by the Saudi foreign ministry and the Secretary of State of the United States. It will focus on strategies and international efforts to combat terrorism in the area.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Kombos will also have the opportunity to exchange views with his regional counterparts on further cooperation projects.
