Police in Paphos are searching for a 33-year-old man believed to have stolen two electric bicycles on Sunday morning.

The owner of the bicycles filed a report at Peyia police station after having seen the man cycling away on one of them.

The bicycles had been stored in a locked storage area on the ground floor of an apartment building and had a combined value of €4,000.

According to police, the owner of the bicycles followed the thief until he loaded the bicycles into a car boot.

The owner recorded the car’s registration plates, and the police have now begun to search for the owner of the vehicle, who was also identifiable in photographs taken by the bicycles’ owner.

Police have released a warrant for the man’s arrest.
