An out-of-court fine of €1,500 was imposed on a 61-year-old man found to be in possession of a quantity of duty-free tobacco products, police said.
According to police, the man was nabbed during a routine traffic stop shortly before midnight on Saturday in an area of Limassol.
A search of the car uncovered 11 cartons of cigarettes and three cartons of tobacco, none of which were properly labelled.
Police informed customs, which imposed the fine.
