Man arrested in Limassol for cannabis, explosives

Limassol police on Monday arrested a 36-year-old man for an investigated case of conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal possession and use of drugs with intent to supply, illegal possession of explosives and money laundering.

According to the police, officers on patrol stopped the 36-year-old for a check at around 4.40pm yesterday outside his home in Limassol.

As reported, nothing was found in his possession but a search was carried out subsequently at his home with a court warrant, which turned up 1.360pk cannabis, 66 factory firecrackers and 16 flares, all of which was confiscated as evidence.

The man was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate ongoing investigations by the Limassol drug team (Ykan).
