Animation screenings and community kitchen at H4C

animation day

Two exciting events are coming up this weekend at The Home for Cooperation, independent of each other. On Saturday, the Cyprus Animation Association will celebrate International Animation Day with a curated showcase of short animation films, bringing together a community of artists and creatives from Cyprus.

Starting at 8pm, the first screening is expected to last approximately 70 minutes and after a short break it will be followed by a compelling 32-minute IAD compilation video entitled We Dream of a Sustainable Future. This video showcases the collaborative efforts of children from 11 different countries, working alongside ASIFA Members who are master-teacher animators. Together, they have explored various animation techniques to create powerful narratives centred around solutions to climate change.

On Sunday, an all-day event at The Home Café will explore the tastes and aromas of Cyprus. The Elate na Nekatothoumen team organises the Community Kitchen – Cypriot Cuisine event that will share all sorts of insights into local food. A workshop will also take place, the details of which are being kept a surprise until the day. Visitors are encouraged to bring a plate or a container to take food home and they can join the activities at any time while the event is on, between 10am and 5pm.
