Nicosia minor arrested for spree of burglaries and car theft

A minor was arrested on Tuesday for five cases of burglary and one car theft committed over the last few days in Nicosia.

According to police statement, the minor was found possession of the keys from a stolen vehicle when he was located and arrested.

The five burglaries were committed in different areas of Nicosia, between November 2 and 7.

Following an apartment burglary on Monday, the perpetrator(s) allegedly stole the victim’s car, having taken the keys from the apartment. 

On Tuesday morning police on motorised patrol spotted the parked vehicle and located the minor with the stolen keys nearby, as well as items linked to two burglaries committed on Monday and Tuesday.

During questioning police obtained testimony against the minor for the remaining three cases.

A judicial arrest warrant was issued and he was taken into custody.

Nicosia CID is furthering the investigation.
