Man arrested for theft from car parked outside hotel in Paphos

Police in Paphos on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old man for an investigated case of theft from a vehicle, and two other persons are wanted in connection with the crime.

According to the police, crime unit officers arrested the 19-year-old suspect shortly after 6pm. A wallet containing cash of various currencies was stolen from the car on November 28 while it was parked outside a hotel unit on Poseidonos Avenue in Yeroskipou.

The owner of the vehicle reported to police that the alleged perpetrator had stolen an amount of €470, as well as $55 dollars, and English coins.

He also allegedly stole the complainant’s Cypriot identity card and driver’s licence, and two credit cards.

The 19-year-old denies involvement in the case and has not named his alleged accomplices so far.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
