Children at Makarios hospital were all smiles on Thursday when Santa Claus came to visit and give them presents for the festive season.

Speaking to the Cyprus Mail about the event, organiser Yiota Koufalidou said that it is the third year the Top Models School and Agency are organising the event, while it is the fourth year, she is bringing gifts to children at the hospital.

As part of the event, Santa Claus visited with all the children, taking pictures and giving presents, giving a little Christmas cheer to the young patients.

A crane was even brought for Santa to give gifts to those unable to leave their beds. The children got their chance to see Santa up close from the balconies of their wards.

The Christmas spirit spread through the hospital further, with a children’s choir from the nearby Pasydy nursery school, who sang carols to the children. There was even more music with soprano Penelope Procopiou singing carols along with children from the Astrinidion Music School.

Koufalidou and the organisers thanked the director of the Makarios Children’s Hospital Dr Christos Mina for welcoming them every year and allowing them to spread holiday cheer to all the children in the hospital.

All the children received gifts from Santa, and gifts were donated from Le Trone Noir, which provided clothing items, and Eastpak.

The gifts were given by Pasydy to the rest of the children.
