20-year-old dead after falling off escalator at north’s airport

A 20-year-old man died on Friday morning after falling of an escalator at the north’s Ercan (Tymbou) airport.

The man, named as Atakan Kapusuz, was a Turkish national completing his military service in Cyprus.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, but have as yet released no further information regarding the incident.
