President sends support to Czech Republic

President Nikos Christodoulides on Friday expressed the solidarity of the Republic of Cyprus with the people of the Czech Republic following the deadly attack in Prague on Thursday.

“At this shocking, painful moment, we stand firmly in solidarity with the Czech Republic and its people. Heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the vicious attack at Prague’s Charles University,” he said on the X platform.


In another post on X, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said he was deeply shocked by the terrible shooting at Charles University in Prague.

The minister conveyed his “heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims” and wished “speedy recovery to the injured”.

The Cyprus foreign ministry said it had received no reports that Cypriot students in Czech were caught up in the incident.
