Vehicle and pergola damaged by electrical fire in Paphos

An electric fault in a vehicle caused a fire which damaged the vehicle as well as the pergola of a residence  in Geroskipou on Tuesday night.

According to Paphos police chief Michalis Nikolaou the incident was reported around 8:15pm and members of the fire service arrived to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Police and electromechanical services established that the vehicle fire had started from a short-circuit in the car’s electrical system.

The fire damaged the vehicle as well as the wooden pergola of the neighbouring residence, police said.
