UN Secretary General personal envoy Maria Holguin, who is paying her second visit to Cyprus, will continue her contacts on the island on Thursday.

At 11.30am, she is due to meet in Nicosia with the head and the members of the executive committee of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) while at 2.30pm she is scheduled to meet with Disy party leader Annita Demetriou at the party’s headquarters.

President Nikos Christodoulides said on Wednesday he will have a second meeting with Holguin on Saturday. He also said he is ready to meet Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar in Holguin’s presence if the former’s response is positive.

In January UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Holguin as his personal envoy for Cyprus, to explore the prospects of restarting Cyprus talks again.

She had already met with the two leaders on her return to Cyprus at the beginning of the week, following meetings with the guarantor powers.
