Police in Paphos on Tuesday arrested two persons for an investigated case of illegal employment.

According to deputy police chief Michalis Nikolaou, around midday officials of the immigration service along with traffic police conducting checks on Neophytos Nikolaides Avenue, stopped a passing motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old man, who lives in Cyprus on a student permit.

The check revealed that the 27-year-old was working as a distributor for a company managed by a 47-year-old woman.

The man was immediately arrested for illegal employment and taken to the central police station where his 47-year-old employer was also called.

Both persons were booked for offences related to illegal employment and are to be summoned later.
