The met office issued a yellow weather warning for Monday, as the temperature is expected to rise to 40 degrees C.

In an announcement, the met office said that the warning would be in effect from 12.30pm until 3.30pm on Monday.

On Sunday, the temperatures were expected to be a bit lower at 37 degrees inland, while in the evening they were set to fall about ten degrees.
