Eight people were arrested for illegal residence in the Republic early on Tuesday morning by the Aliens and Immigration Service in Paphos.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Operations in Paphos, Michalis Nikolaou, the group consisted of four men and four women, six from Asia and two from Africa.

The arrests followed an investigation by the Aliens and Immigration Service in Paphos, which identified the individuals living in the Republic without the required residence permits.

The arrested individuals will appear before the Paphos District Court today for the issuance of a detention order as repatriation proceedings begin.
