The met office has issued a yellow warning for heavy thunderstorms and hail for Thursday, valid from 12:00 until 18:00.

According to the met office, isolated heavy thunderstorms are expected to affect mainly the mountainous areas, the inland and the southeast areas of the island. Hail is expected while winds may be variable.

Precipitation rate is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour.

Winds will initially blow from the southwest to the northwest at 3 Beaufort and then gradually increase to 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming strong at 5 Beaufort later in the south, southwest, southeast, and locally in the north.

Temperatures will rise to approximately 38 degrees Celsius inland, 36 degrees in the north and east, 34 degrees in the southwest, 33 degrees along the rest of the coast, and 29 degrees in the mountains.
