Police on Monday announced the arrest of a 48-year-old man they believe had supplied no less than 68 fireworks and smoke bombs to a 16-year-old child who was caught with them at a football match on Saturday.
The teen was found with the fireworks and smoke bombs during a football match held at Limassol’s Alphamega Stadium between Aris Limassol and Greek club Olympiacos, before being remanded in custody for three days on Sunday.
Subsequent to this, testimony was secured against the 48-year-old, and he is now expected to appear in court later on Monday.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
