The 17-year-old national guardsman is returned to Cyprus on Tuesday via air ambulance.
Although his condition has improved, it is not stable enough for him to travel on a commercial flight. As a result, he departed from Paul Brousse Hospital in France by air ambulance and was admitted to Nicosia general hospital.
The 17-year-old did not undergo the liver transplant that was initially considered necessary. However, he is experiencing lung issues, which will be treated in Cyprus.
He was hospitalised in Cyprus last month after losing consciousness during a military exercise.
A second conscript who was also hospitalised at Nicosia general hospital, tested positive for Covid-19, which worsened his condition, the defence ministry said.
