Limassol’s criminal court opened its doors to chaos on Thursday morning, as relatives of Turkish Cypriots – accused of robbing food delivery drivers – stormed the building.
The relatives were demanding the trial be held immediately and that they be permitted to see their relatives.
Video footage shows a woman taking off her slipper and going after special forces police officers.
Relatives were reported to have been shouting, threatening and pushing police officers.
Police managed to quell the disturbance, however a second incident erupted, during which a woman threatened to place a bomb.
Court proceedings were put on hold until the fuss stopped.
