The Mall of Cyprus is proud to announce the continued success of its partnership with the Cyprus Blood Centre, playing a vital role in supporting blood collection efforts for those in need. By offering prime promotional spaces within the Mall, the Cyprus Blood Centre has been able to host regular blood donation drives, providing a convenient opportunity for donors to contribute to this life-saving cause.
During such drives at the Mall of Cyprus in 2023, a total of 911 units of blood were collected, with 1,210 people coming forward to contribute. In 2024, the success continued with 1,120 units of blood collected so far, thanks to 1,483 donors. These contributions further enhance the island’s essential blood supply, benefiting hospitals and patients across the country.
Over the past two years, blood donation drives at the Mall of Cyprus have collected an impressive 2,031 units of blood. Given that the average human body contains approximately 10 units of blood, these generous donations have the potential to save or sustain the lives of more than 200 people. Each unit of blood plays a critical role in the health and recovery of patients.
“We are honoured to support the Cyprus Blood Centre by offering our spaces for their essential blood donation drives,” said Mall of Cyprus Marketing Manager George Pissis. “The turnout from our visitors is always heartwarming, and it’s clear that our community is eager to help save lives.”
The Cyprus Blood Centre relies on regular donations to maintain sufficient blood reserves for hospitals and patients across the country. By holding these donation drives at high-traffic locations, like the Mall of Cyprus, a broad audience is reached, ensuring more people have the opportunity to give blood.
