The electricity authority (EAC) announced on Thursday that there will be power cuts on Sunday from 5am until 11am in some Limassol villages.

According to the EAC announcement, the disruption in the network is due to works that will be carried out to upgrade the transmission network of the authority.

The villages that will be affected are Parekklisia, Pyrgos, Moni, Asgata, Monagroulli, Kellaki, Eptagonia, Melini, Akapnou, Arakapas, Dierona, Sanida, Vikla, Ora, Odou, Ayii Vavatsinias, Profitis Elias, and Sykopetra.

“As it is not certain that the interruption in electricity supply will last for the entire period of time mentioned above, consumers should assume that their premises have electricity for the entire period of time mentioned in the notice,” the announcement said.

The authority apologised for any inconvenience, adding however that the outage is necessary to conduct transmission system work in the area.
