The Paphos district government on Friday announced that it would begin to remove billboards from the district’s main roads.
It said it had taken the decision to “immediately remove all advertising signs along roads of primary and secondary importance”, and that it had done so “for reasons of road safety, but also to remove visual nuisance”.
The signs’ removal will be carried out by teams from the district government as well as from the municipalities and villages in which the billboards are located.
The work will begin at and, according to the district government “pay particular attention to” the roads between Paphos airport and the village of Tsada, and will carry on until October 8.
The district government said it is “looking forward to positive responses” from people in the area.
